DigiBC announces 2019/20 Board of Directors

VANCOUVER, BC (October 2, 2019) - DigiBC, the Interactive & Digital Media Industry Association of British Columbia announces the appointment of six new members to its Board of Directors, bringing the total to 15.


"The DigiBC Board is delighted to be welcoming these new members who represent the breadth and vitality of British Columbia’s creative technology industry,” says Board Chair Jon Lutz. “The Board and staff are excited to support the success of the Video Game, Animation & VFX and Mixed Reality (AR/VR) sectors in our province. The experience and skills of these new members complement the strengths of our current Board and will assist us as we look to the industry’s future."


DigiBC Executive Director Brenda Bailey adds, “These individuals bring a broad range of business skills to the table and represent what is great about the creative technology industry in BC. With representation from Victoria, Kelowna, and Vancouver, we will continue to grow the sector throughout the entire province. Moreover, we are proud that the Board is now comprised of 40% female leaders. As creative technology continues to expand in diversity, DigiBC is delighted to lead by example.”


The 2019/20 DigiBC Board of Directors (newly elected) are:

Founded in 1998, DigiBC (previously New Media BC) is the voice of the creative technology industry in BC which includes Video Games, Interactive Media, Animation & VFX and Mixed Reality (AR/VR). Providing school-based programs to BC students, DigiBC believes the creative technology sector is the place for young people to build fascinating careers, whether as coders, artists, producers or audio engineers. DigiBC is a member-based, not-for-profit organization that provides value to its members through government relations, education programming for future talent, community events, and professional development training.
